Our Simple Terms & Conditions

Unburden provides a personal reminder and life administration support service designed to help reduce mental load. The service is solely for recurring and important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, renewals and similar commitments, with reminders sent by traditional means such as text message or WhatsApp and by an allocated PA (a real person). While care is taken to send these helpful prompts in advance and at appropriate times, the responsibility for acting on them remains with the customer. Unburden does not provide legal, financial or medical advice and does not store documents or request passwords, logins or account access.

Unburden is not intended to replace a full diary or calendar system. Requests outside the usual scope of recurring reminders may be considered and added to the service with this decision sitting with the allocated PA. From time to time, additional one-off services or practical add-ons may be offered to customers where they are relevant and helpful - e.g. offer to send cards, flowers and gifts on the customer's behalf. These are always optional, clearly explained, clearly priced and only provided with the customer’s prior agreement. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis and can be cancelled at any time.

By using the service, you agree to these terms.

Frequently asked questions

Starting something new can raise questions.
These answers are here to help you understand how Unburden works and whether it’s right for you.

What is Unburden?

Unburden is a personal reminder and life admin support service. A real person keeps track of important dates for you and sends reminders by text or WhatsApp, so they don’t sit in your head. More life admin services will become available soon, but for now it's a reminder service.

Is Unburden an App?

No. There’s no app to download or manage. Reminders are handled personally by your allocated PA and sent through traditional channels like text message or WhatsApp.

Is this an automated service?

No. Unburden is handled by a real person, not automated alerts or bots. You are allocated a real Personal Assistant who will chat you to you about your needs.

Who is Unburden for?

Unburden is for anyone who feels mentally stretched, busy or simply tired of carrying everything in their head. Many people use it alongside work, family life, or during periods of change.

What kind of things can Unburden remind me about?

Unburden is for recurring or important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, car MOTs, insurance renewals, subscriptions and similar commitments. If the date you wish reminded of seems to fall out of this scope, it may be considered and added to your service. This is at your PA's discretion.

Is Unburden Secure?

Yes. Unburden is a trading name of Platform 9 Properties Ltd, a registered UK company, also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Information is handled carefully and only collected where necessary.

Is this a replacement for my diary or calendar?

No. Unburden isn’t designed to replace all diary or calendar entries that usually contain many one-off commitments, as well as recurring dates. This service works alongside everyday life by quietly reminding you of the most important, recurring occasions and dates. Example: "Coffee with Sarah at 10am on Tuesday" is a one-off calendar or diary entry, so the reminder service would not normally apply here.

Do you offer Gift Vouchers?

Yes - you can buy vouchers for a 6 or 12 month set period for the reminder service here on our website. We will email you, the purchaser, a voucher to pass to the recipient that gives information on how to get started with us.

How do I get started - and how are my dates gathered?

Once you sign up, you’ll be allocated an Unburden PA - a real person who will contact you to firstly agree your preferred channel of communication. Your PA will then ask a few gentle questions to help get things set up and ensure imminent dates are captured as a first step. Most people share just a few dates and add the rest as and when they spring to mind - or as they come up in real life. We will work with you and stay in regular communication.

Will I need to provide access to any of my online accounts?

Unburden will never ask for passwords, logins, or access to your accounts. We will only collect the minimum information needed to enable us to provide your reminder service.

How and when are reminders sent?

Usually via text message or WhatsApp - but the method of communication will be agreed with you at the outset.  Reminders will be sent at 4 weeks before the date, then a follow-up 2 weeks before and a final reminder 1 week before (so, 3 reminders in total). You can always advise your PA if you've dealt with an occasion - you're talking to a person, remember! - and your reminders can be stopped until they next recur.

Can I ask for help - like sending cards or making bookings?

Of course you can ask for help! These add-ons would be chargeable separately, but always agreed and paid for in advance. Your PA may also reach out to you to offer additional help such as organising and sending cards and flowers. You would never experience any hard-selling, just assistance when we think it's helpful (at the time of the final reminder when we know time is against you!)

How much does it cost?

The reminder service costs £5 per month. Or you can choose an annual subscription at £50 per year, a £10 reduction on the monthly fee.

What if I start then want to cancel?

Subscriptions can be cancelled any time at no cost.  You can choose monthly or annual subscriptions and your service will simply not renew after cancellation.

What if I'm not sure this is right for me?

That’s completely fine. Most people start small, with the monthly subscription, to see how it feels. If it’s not for you, you can cancel at any time.

Because remembering everything is exhausting.
